E-Mobility with the Power of the Sun

6/20/2024 / Menemen, Turkey
Rising energy prices and a sense of environmental responsibility were already decisive factors for architect Tolga Turut from Menemen, Turkey, when he was looking to purchase a photovoltaic system for his family home over two years ago. The project was realized together with the installation company Artı Enerji, with a 6 kWp rooftop system powered by a Fronius Symo GEN24 6.0 Plus producing clean solar power ever since.

Independent at home—and on the road

After the system generated almost twice the amount of electricity needed for their domestic needs, it was clear that the Turuts needed to start thinking in terms of e-mobility. With the Fronius Wattpilot Go, the family car is now also charged intelligently and flexibly with excess PV energy.

The advantages are obvious: with a system consisting of the Fronius Symo GEN24 Plus and Fronius Wattpilot Go operating in perfect harmony, energy that is not consumed in the household is used to charge the electric car—even with outputs as small as just 1.38 kW.

» Artı Enerji recommended that we use products from Fronius with our new PV system. We have been extremely satisfied with their recommendation, as the solution from Fronius has proven its worth time and again and really is a high-quality product. «

The mobile charging box—always on board

“We decided on the Fronius Wattpilot Go because it is portable. It is attached to our house wall, but we can also take it with us and use it wherever we want. We are therefore very happy with this situation,” explains Tolga Turut. The Fronius Wattpilot Go is compatible with any socket thanks to a CEE plug and the optional adapter sets, which ensures a higher charging power than with other emergency charging cables.

24 hours of sun in daily life

By combining the photovoltaic system on the roof with the Fronius Wattpilot Go portable charging solution, Tolga Turut gets more from the sun and enjoys low-cost, flexible e-mobility. The additional battery from BYD allows the solar power generated during the day to be used at night and in bad weather, meaning Tolga is able to live more sustainably in his everyday life while at the same time saving costs. With the help of their PV system, Tolga Turut and his family are making great strides towards 24 hours of sun and the associated energy independence.
